Out of an abundance of caution and in conjunction with the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control, we are implementing extra health measures to keep our community healthy. Visitation restrictions have been recommended for long term care programs to prevent introduction of the COVID 19 virus and our goal is to reduce the potential exposure to infection to all members of our community. To the best of our knowledge, no one associated with Friedman Place in any way has been diagnosed with the virus.

Effective immediately, Friedman Place is limiting visits to the building to essential persons only. This primarily includes Friedman place staff and outside medical providers (including lab and x-ray personnel, first-responders, and employees of the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services and Public Health).  As of today, family, friends, volunteers, and most other visitors are not permitted access to the building. Residents of course may come and go as they please but are asked to meet rides and guests outside or in the entranceway foyer before leaving. Staff are available to assist.

We are managing various deliveries on an individual basis; most will be very brief and items will be left at the door. This includes family and friends bringing items to be given to residents.

Additionally, most outside activities and those involving outside entertainers coming into the building will be cancelled.

We are monitoring the situation closely and will let you know of any major changes and when the restrictions can be lifted.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this challenging time. If you have questions or comments, please contact the following staff:
