Edgewater Arts Festival

The Friedman Place Weaving Program recently participated in the Edgewater Arts Festival on Saturday, September 23-Sunday, September 24, on Granville Avenue from Sheridan to Broadway.

Friedman Place staff, Board members and volunteers had a booth to sell resident’s weavings and provide information about Friedman Place and the Weaving Program to visitors.  The Festival featured 100 local artists displaying big city caliber art combined with a contagious neighborhood party atmosphere! Thousands of art lovers and buyers experienced the cultural vitality of Edgewater through a unique mix of visual arts, performing arts, good food, children's activities & talent shows, and welcoming hosts.

Our booth was very popular and busy, we were warmly welcomed by the Festival organizers and the public. We sold over 100 woven items and shared information about Friedman Place with hundreds of visitors.  Our booth was located near the West Stage, so we were treated to live music both days.  Despite the unseasonal heat our volunteers showed up and represented Friedman Place with big smiles – we are so grateful to them for making this event a success!
